Bobby
and Holly are 4th graders who have always been best friends but hide
their friendship at school because their classmates think boys and girls aren’t
supposed to be friends. When they each
start to make other friends and are pitted against one another in a class
election, their relationship becomes very strained. I kind of wonder how realistic the
boys-vs-girls rivalry is because I see boys and girls getting along and being friends
all the time here at school. Aside from
that, though, this is a REALLY funny book about friendship, embarrassment, and
getting older—three very real parts of being a 4th grader.
